Nate Singer is a U.S. Air Force cyber security analyst, and the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of cyber defense at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas. Leading with influence over authority, he and his team defend the intelligence mission across three network enclaves and classifications. He is an (ISC)² Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), with additional certifications from the CompTIA non-profit and Cisco Systems. Alongside the certifying body: International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)², Nate is an active member of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP). An unyielding believer in the value of education, Nate is on his way to completing a dual Bachelor’s Degree in cybersecurity [NSA-CAE CDE] and management, and he will be conferred at Norwich University in June of this year (2020)!!

Nate is seriously passionate about cybersecurity, but he’s just as passionate about teaching and mentoring. For the past 8 years, he’s been involved with AFA’s CyberPatriot Program, and three years ago he founded a team local to his current duty station which went on to win the Texas Middle School state championship. Since then, while under his direction, the Texas Leadership Charter Academy’s chapter of CyberPatriot teams has doubled in respect to its number of competitors and looks forward to new challenges and opportunities with each upcoming season of competition. Under his recruitment efforts, two additional mentors have been added to the roster to help foster student’s technical development and leadership drive.

Now, Nate is turning that same passion toward a wider range of people with a broader platform. Through this blog, he hopes to shed light on a variety of cybersecurity topics including the state of cyber-education. New breakthroughs in internet security, information on past attacks, and a variety of articles related to the field in general can all be found on Nate’s blog, along with walk-throughs of CTF levels like Hack the Box, and overthewire. You can also find resources and information for pursuing your own career in cybersecurity, including certifications, courses, and career introspection. Finally, you’ll be able to find articles on the latest breakthroughs in computer and security technology, helping you stay up to date with what’s happening in the ever-changing world of cyber.

If that sounds interesting to you, make sure you take a good look around. New content is being added all the time. If you’d like to stay up to date with the latest posts, don’t forget to sign up for the notifications below!
